Member Spotlight

Get to know some of our new and "old" members.  This month's member is Barb Brisley.  Click Read More to learn more about Barb. 

Barbara is originally from Pennsylvania and moved to 4 different states as a child.  She attended Carthage College in Wisconsin where she joined Circle K International. After her family moved to Bradenton and she transferred to the University of South Florida in Tampa, Barb remained involved with Circle K.  When she finished her studies at USF, Barb joined the Temple Terrace Kiwanis club, where she was a Key Club and Circle K Kiwanis Advisor.  She was also a Key Club Zone Administrator. Barb was President of both the Temple Terrace and West Bradenton clubs and was a member of the Board of Directors of each club. 

 

Barb moved to Bradenton in 2009, where she joined the West Bradenton Club. Now she is a member of the North Manatee club and the Siesta Key club. Barbara joined Kiwanis because she wanted to perform community service even after college. By joining Kiwanis, she was able to continue her work with people she met through her time in Circle K. Her favorite program of Kiwanis is the service leadership programs and getting to work with young people. 

 

She has a younger brother, who lives in Tampa, a nephew who is 13, and a niece who is 10.  Her parents live in Bradenton also. In her free time, Barbara enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and catching up with her favorite TV shows.
