2024 Leadership Training Conference (LTC) on October 25-27 at Camp Kiwanis in Silver Springs, Florida!
LTC is focused on building leaders through a heavy emphasis on fellowship and getting to work with CKI and Kiwanis members from across the state of Florida and the Cayman Islands! This year they explored the world of Winnie-the-Pooh with their 2024 LTC theme: "Service in the One-Hundred Acre Woods".
Mary Lynn Desjarlais and Meera Nair (CKI member from UF and the District Kiwanis Family Relations Chair and our past LTG from PineView) presented 3 rounds of seminars on "Engaging the Kiwanis Family". The college kids were great and many ideas how to be more involved with the Key Clubs and Kiwanis clubs near their college campus.
There was a service project focused on the Governor's Project, Once Upon A Time, by creating Letters of Love and Literacy. Finally, they brought back a fan favorite by doing their pie fundraiser again this year! (and no Mary Lynn refused to have a pie in the face!)
The Kiwanis District Officers serve the meals to the CKI members. The CKI executive board and the CKI President Jose Mendez planned the meals and shopped for the food. The Kiwanis Club of Ocala provided the Friday Evening meal. The Kiwanis members cooked and served the meals. Mary Lynn Desjarlais was designated the kitchen manager for life, LOL. Something about routinely serving 30 - 40 family members for Thanksgiving every year. Present were Governor Jeremy Reihl, past Governor Prairie Reihl, Governor Elect Tommy Mills and Vice Governor Linda Martin, the Foundation Governor Elect David Roth, CKI Administrator Krystal Laudicina and Kiwanians, Ingrid Goulbourne, Floyd Adams, David McCampbell, past Governor Harvey White, past Governor Mary Lynn Desjarlais and Lindsey Lenhart.
